Raising Funds for Local Cancer Care Unit

At checkout, you may choose to add $1, $2, $5 or a custom amount to support our Community Day Med  Unit at Temiskaming Hospital.  Supporting them is entirely optional. There is no obligation to contribute, no pressure to give. Whether you choose to contribute or not, we are grateful for your support and for taking the time to explore Northern Primrose. Northern Primrose remits 100% of these contributions to Temiskaming Hospital, for  Day Med, each month.

Why We Choose to Give Back

Day Med provides comfort and support to local patients and their families. Despite the important role they play in our community, they are in need. Like many others, our family has experienced firsthand the challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis and treatment journey. We are so very grateful for the Temiskaming Shores Satellite Unit because it allows us to stay in the area and avoid travels to Sudbury.

GOAL NUMBER TWO: THE GREEN CHAIR

One of the treatment chairs used by patients during therapy is in need of replacement. These specialized medical chairs provide comfort and support during treatments that can last several hours at a time. Designed for safety, mobility and extended use, a single chair can easily cost approximately $3000.

Goal number 2 is simple: to help raise enough funds to purchase a replacement chair for our local cancer patients. Any contribution is entirely optional, there is no pressure to give. All money will be given to the Temiskaming Hospital every month, until Goal 2 is reached.

GOAL NUMBER ONE: THE CONFETTI HUGS SOAP

Confetti Hugs Soaps were made from the leftover pieces from previous soap batches. Each bar was unique, and a reminder that little things can still make a huge difference.  Ten bars were made and sold out within 24 hours. The profits are used to provide lunches or snacks for patients receiving treatments. On June 3rd,  we  provided lunch for nine, and other treats will be provided on future dates.  It was a small project but it showed how a community can come together. While we organized this initiative, the credit belongs to those who purchased a bar.   We can not put into words how happy the recipients were. We wanted the recipients to know that this was made possible by the generosity of our community.  It happened because of the purchasers, including Sarah, who had a very special message to add: "You are stronger than you think! You got this! "  A reminder we could all use from time to time.
